After the Wheel’s reminder that life moves in cycles, Justice steps in as the law within those movements — the order that holds meaning amid change.
She represents clarity, fairness, and alignment between inner truth and outer action.
Where the Wheel shows motion, Justice brings pause — the still moment of reckoning, when awareness and accountability meet.

In the Rider–Waite–Smith deck (1909), Justice sits upon a throne between two pillars, echoing the High Priestess’s gateway of wisdom. In her right hand, she holds a double-edged sword — discernment; in her left, the balanced scales of truth. Her red robe signifies vitality and conviction, while the crown upon her head bears a small square jewel — the symbol of right thought and grounded integrity.

Earlier decks, like the Tarot de Marseille, placed Justice as the eighth card, before The Hermit, emphasising the worldly law that precedes inner seeking. In the Thoth Tarot, she becomes Adjustment — a living embodiment of equilibrium, the ongoing correction and alignment that keeps creation in harmony.

Across systems, her lesson remains: truth requires balance, and balance requires awareness.
